Inky Award winners 2018

Today the Inky award winners were announced.

There are two Inky awards: the Golden Inky for an Australian book and the Silver Inky for an International book.  A panel of teenagers create a short list from books nominated by teenage readers.  Then readers (under the age of 20) vote online for the winners.

We have the Silver Award winner in the library already : The hate u give is the debut title from US author Angie Thomas.

The Golden Inky is now on order - hopefully lands in the library soon!  "Paper Cranes Don't fly" by Peter Vu is a story describing the life of a cancer patient,   Focusing not just on living with cancer, but going through it with the help of patience, love and friendship

The Inky Awards is part of the "Inside a Dog" site, part of  the State Library of Victoria.  It has a range of resources including - book recommendations, how to publish your own book and competitions.

For more information regarding young adult literature please consult our subject guide.  Or Contact your friendly Liaison Librarian, June Frost.
