New services for Post Graduate research and coursework students

As Liaison Librarian for the School of Education, you can make face to face, email or phone appointments with me to assist with the development of topic questions, conduct literature reviews, find and review scholarly information through library databases, discover the best places to publish, develop or update your researcher ID or manage your references by using Endnote. Go to  http://www.lib.rmit.edu.au/forms/research/consult.php  Research consultation sessions are open to academic and teaching staff, as well as students doing honours, postgraduate coursework, higher degree by research (PhD and Masters). It's never too late

A recent post from the School of Education news  discusses a fellow student changing careers later in life.   Many people do this, for a wide variety of reasons.  Often it is very challenging, and most come to the desk "I have not studied in years, and everything is so different!"  But they get through, and generally do very well I find. Once upon a time, all the journals the Library subscribed to were in print format, and we could not keep up with the shelving.  Times have changed, but there is still a place for print journal s in our collection! A recent study by Mission Australia regarding  the top issues of concern for young people in Australia points to coping with stress as the number one problem.    This is followed by school and study concerns, and body image issues. Eddie Woo was on Australian Story  and the 7.30 report recently.  He has chosen to be a teacher of Mathematics.   Something of a difficult choice, as his parents wanted him to be a doctor or a lawyer earning large amounts of money, instead of a teacher.  He could have gone down these paths, however his passion lay in education.
